Selectboard’s Work Session Minutes
Wednesday, February 26, 2015 – 4:30 PM

The meeting was called to order at 4:30 PM by Chairwoman Davidson.

The Selectboard reviewed and/or signed the following items:
4:30 PM: Selectboard Working Session
At 4:30 PM the Selectboard voted to enter into non-public session under 91-A:3 IIb Personnel, on a motion by the Chair and a second by Selectwoman Charig Bliss. Selectwoman Day, aye; Selectwoman Charig Bliss, aye; the Chair, aye; the motion passed 3-0. At 5:35PM the Selectboard voted to end non-public session on a vote of 3-0. The minutes were sealed. It was noted that Wyatt Fox, former Road Agent for the Greenfield Highway Department, had offered to be an informal advisor to the Selectboard during the time that the Board looks for a new DPW Supervisor. The Board had accepted his offer of assistance. There were no other votes taken in the non-public session.
The Board and Mr. Fox discussed the Town of Greenfield Snow Removal Policy and whether the current policy needed updating. There followed a discussion on the downtown route, which includes the municipal buildings. A discussion about the use of the large snow pusher followed. Mr. Fox indicated that the 14’ pusher is too large for the backhoe and was purchased for use with the Loader. He discussed the misallocation of equipment, including the MT, which used to have a sand spreader on the back to treat sidewalks.
There followed a discussion about the best use of part-time and contract help for the rest of the winter season. The discussion covered the best use of equipment for the plow routes and downtown to maximize drainage. Mr. Fox agreed to meet with the Administrator and the DPW crew on Monday morning, March 2nd.
Adjournment
On a motion by the Chair, and a second by Selectwoman Charig Bliss, the Board voted to adjourn. The motion carried 3-0. The meeting adjourned at 7:00 PM.
The minutes are final when approved and signed by the Selectboard. A signed copy is on file in the Selectboard’s office.
